About the course
Westwood Golf Club is located on both sides of the River Churnet, offering a range of interesting challenges for novice and experienced player alike.
The 18-hole, 6105 yard, par 70 course can be enjoyed by golfers of all ages and abilities. It is sufficiently demanding for the more experienced, but not overwhelming for novices.
The first nine holes offer a unique challenge as no two holes are alike. The undulating lies and terrain are variable and each hole requires care and concentration. Accuracy off the tee is of paramount importance.
The second nine holes are set in flat parkland on the opposite bank and present a completely different challenge. Here the long, straight, manicured fairways give longer hitters ample opportunity to flex their muscles.
The two nines are separated by the river, which comes into play on some of the holes.
