Pupils have good behaviour down to a “tee”
Leek school pupils could benefit from golf lessons from top professional Greg Rogula as a reward for good behaviour.
It’s part of a plan by St Edward’s Church of England Academy in Westwood Road Leek and Westwood Golf Club Leek in encouraging positive behaviour both in school and in their social surroundings.
St Edward’s Vice Principal, Jason Parrish said: “We wanted to find a way to make the most of the increased interest in sport following the highly successful Olympic Games, using the discipline of top sportsmen and women as a way of promoting and helping our pupils to be good citizens”.
“Following initial discussions, we are proud to announce that we will be working in partnership with Westwood Golf Club professional, Greg Rogula and his team.”
Greg, who started playing at 11 and has played some world-class courses venues during his golfing career, including Royal Birkdale and the Belfry, feels this will be a great opportunity: “It has always been golf that captured my interest from an early age and I'm delighted to have the opportunity to inspire these youngsters.”
The partnership between St Edward’s Church of England Academy and golf professional Greg Rogula will see a number of year 8 pupils receiving 3, ½ hour golf lessons, with the added incentive that the best two will receive free membership for a year.
Introductory Offer
Any current member of Westwood Golf Club who introduces a new member to the golf club for the 2013/14 season will receive £100 credit on their bar card to spend on food and beverages.
This offer will only be available with NEW members and does not include any member from 2012 or suspended members.

As a member of Westwood Golf Club you are able to play MIckleover Golf Club, Houldsworth Golf Club and Izaak Walton Golf Club for FREE.

- You may play unlimited amount of times
- Booking must be made through the Pro
- Any member using this offer is encouraged to spend money at the visited golf club as a gesture of good will.

Spend To Save Offer
The "Spend to Save" scheme has been introduced to encourage our members to make use of our Clubhouse and therefore bring more revenue to the bar.
You have the option to at the start of the year decide if you would like either
- A 5% discount of the drinks that you purchase at the bar.
or
- Pay full price for your drinks at the bar and receive the 5% discount at the end of the year by being deducted from next years subscription.
Your decision must be made at the start of the 2013/14 season and cannot be altered during the year.
To receive discount of next years fees you must produce your bar card upon purchase.
